General Directions

BY PLANE (to Brussels International Airport Zaventem, http://www.brusselsairport.be/):

  • BUS - "AIRPORT LINE" BUS SERVICE (€ 3.00 ONE-WAY, http://www.stib.irisnet.be/) - a few connections an hour from the airport to Bruxelles-Luxembourg/Brussel-Luxemburg station.

    Take the bus to "Trône/Troon". Walk back along Rue du Luxembourg towards the railway station and European Parliament (glass building). Rue Marie de Bourgogne is the third street on your left. The EU-Japan Centre is in the final part of the road, on the left-hand side (number 52). Total journey time approximately 30 minutes.

  • TRAIN (€ 3,20 ONE-WAY, http://www.b-rail.be/) - 3 connections an hour from the airport to central Brussels (journey time 30 minutes).

    Take the train to either "Bruxelles-Central/Brussel-Centraal" station and a taxi from there to the Centre (5 minutes ) or "Bruxelles-Midi/Brussel-Zuid" and take the metro (direction "Simonis", €1.40 single fare, http://www.stib.irisnet.be/) and get off at "Trône/Troon" station. Walk past the front of the train to the escalator. Go up and take the exit on your right hand side (walk up the stairs) to get out of the station. From there you have a 3-minute walk. You will see the European Parliament (glass building) at the end of the street (Rue Montoyer). Take the 4th road on your left (Rue Marie de Bourgogne). The EU-Japan Centre is in the final part of the road, on the left-hand side (number 52, 6th floor). Your train may also (depending on where you are coming from) stop at "Bruxelles-Luxembourg/Brussel-Luxemburg" station. From there, you have a 3-minute walk to the Centre.

BY THALYS/EUROSTAR (to Bruxelles-Midi / Brussel-Zuid, http://www.thalys.com/ or http://www.eurostar.co.uk/)

Take the metro (direction "Simonis", http://www.stib.irisnet.be/, €1.40 single fare) and get off at "Trône/Troon" station. Walk past the front of the train to the escalator.
