The EU-Japan Business Dialogue Round Table (EJBDRT) held its annual meeting in Berlin on 3 and 4 June 2007 under the co-chairmanship of Georges Jacobs and Tadashi Okamura, in the presence of EC Commissioner Günter Verheugen and representatives from the Japanese Authorities.

EU and Japanese business leaders presented their recommendations on the most pressing issues from the business point of view: the future of the WTO negotiations, the new bilateral agenda, joint cooperation on energy and climate change, and innovation.

This meeting took place prior to the important bilateral Summit on 5 June 2007 at which it was agreed that in the current new environment, the EU and Japan which are global partners, should intensify their close mutual cooperation on bilateral as well as multilateral levels.
