Our mission

A unique venture between the European Commission and the Japanese Government, the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation is a core non-profit organisation aimed at improving EU and Japanese companies’ competitiveness and cooperation by facilitating exchanges of experience and know-how between EU and Japanese businesses.

The EU-Japan Centre is committed to developing its activities to follow as closely as possible the priorities of the Japanese and EU Authorities and the needs of industry.

Since its establishment in 1987, the Centre and its activities have been funded by the Directorate-General for Enterprise & Industry (European Commission) and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI) as well as by contributions from private corporations.
